Dr. Jawwad did his Bachelors in Electrical Engineering from UET, Lahore in 2006. During undergraduate studies he took coursework related to Telecommunication. He completed his Masters in Electrical Engineering from Virginia Tech in Fall 2009. While studying at Virginia Tech, he worked on AdHoc computer networks. His MS thesis resulted in an emulator for identifying and eradicating selfish behavior in wireless ad hoc networks. During masters, he also worked as a graduate research assistant on National Science Foundation (NSF) funded project. After graduating, he worked as a consultant for Qualcomm Inc, in San Diego, CA, before returning to his home country to pursue teaching. He completed his Ph.D. from LUMS in 2018 in the area of communication theory.
