BS Computer Systems
Program Overview:
The BS Computer Systems program is a cutting-edge undergraduate degree offered under the School of Engineering (SEN), uniquely designed to bridge the gap between hardware-based systems and intelligent software technologies. This program takes an engineering-first approach to modern computing challenges, with a core emphasis on Artificial Intelligence (AI), the Internet of Things (IoT), and the emerging convergence of both—known as the Artificial Intelligence of Things (AIoT). By integrating these domains into real-world applications, the program focuses on developing smart, connected, and autonomous Intelligent Systems that interact seamlessly with their physical environments.
What Sets It Apart?
Unlike conventional computing programs, which focus primarily on algorithms, software frameworks, or data systems, BS Computer Systems integrates hardware and software through an engineering lens. The program is grounded in:
- Embedded system design
- Real-time data acquisition and processing
- Sensor integration and edge computing
- AI hardware acceleration and model deployment
- IoT network architectures, protocols, and security
Through this approach, students gain hands-on experience in building AI-powered embedded systems and IoT-enabled devices, capable of intelligent decision-making at the edge—hallmarks of modern AIoT systems.
