Syed Rehan Ashraf joined the University of Management and Technology (UMT), Lahore as an Assistant Professor in the Industrial Engineering Department at the School of Engineering in August 2013, where he teaches courses of Industrial and Mechanical Engineering. His research interests are in the fields of Optimization, Operations Management and Quality Management. Further interests include cost minimization of transportation, reduction in energy input and cost of quality. He has contributed to research on optimizing usage of the fuel mix in cement plants and cost of quality. His ongoing research is on transportation models of perishable goods. Before joining UMT, Mr Rehan worked as Executive in the Production and Quality Department of HinoPak Motors limited (HPML) for six years. His most work focused on operations of Assembly and Bus Body Plants, planning of Trim Line and Quality Control
