PhD Civil Engineering

 

Program Objectives

The objectives of PhD Civil Engineering Program are:

  • Have advanced technical knowledge in at least one specialty in Civil Engineering.
  • Have capability to apply advance knowledge to engineering problems and make significant contribution in at least one specialty of Civil Engineering.
  • To produce future leaders for industry, academia, government and society whose vision is founded upon fundamental knowledge, analytical skills, creativity, perspective and ethics.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • The minimum CGPA 3.0 (out of 4.0 in the Semester System) or First Division (in the Annual System) in MS Civil Engineering /Equivalent is required.
  • In the case GRE subject test, the minimum 60% marks is required to pass  OR
  • In case of UMT GRE Subject (Civil Engineering) test, the qualifying score is 70%

General Admission Requirements for Students

All applications are evaluated on the basis of merit as determined by their previous academic record and performance in admission test/interview. The normal requirements include a strong record of scholarship in a completed Master’s degree (MS) program in any of the mentioned engineering disciplines.

  • For Admission in PhD Civil Engineering the minimum CGPA 3.0 (out of 4.0 in the Semester System) or First Division (in the Annual System) in MS Civil Engineering /Equivalent is required.
  • In the case GRE subject test, the minimum 60% marks is required to pass OR In case of UMT GRE Subject (Civil Engineering) test, the qualifying score is 70%
  • Students meeting the above requirements and having scholarships or sponsorships to fund their PhD degree program will be given preferences in interview with admission committee.
  • Final admission will be granted on the basis of interview with admission committee.
