Why Degree in Civil Engineering?
Civil Engineering is the “mother of all engineering disciplines”. It plays a vital role in almost every field of life ranging from transportation infrastructures, high-rise buildings, hydropower, water supply and irrigation projects. This is because of diversity and wide applicability of knowledge intrinsic to the field of Civil engineering.
In the Bachelor Degree of Civil Engineering at UMT, emphasis will be on the fundamental concepts and principles of civil engineering relating to buildings, roads, and transportation as well as irrigation infrastructures such as head-works, barrages and dams. To foster creative abilities, the students will be assigned projects on design of real world projects, laboratory as well as field investigations. The classroom and laboratory work will be supplemented with educational tours of different industries, buildings, hydropower and irrigation projects to acquaint the students with the engineering projects and applications.
